Dr. Jewell graduated #1 in his class with a BS degree from the US Military Academy at West Point in 1978. He earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1983 and went on to do his pathology residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Ft. Gordon, GA. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, in 1990.
Dr. Jewell is a diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology and in the subspecialty of dermatopathology. Prior to joining NPA, he was Chief of the Department of Pathology at Womack Army Medical Center and Director of the Blood Bank and Donor Center in Ft. Bragg, NC.
Dr. Jewell serves as the Laboratory Director for the Naples Pathology Associates laboratory.
Dr. Jewell is an avid Cubs baseball fan and enjoys golf and boating in Naples. All three of his children and eight grandchildren live in Naples, which keeps him busy when he is off-duty.
